Hello,
I'm a physicist and researcher at the University of Siegen in the working group of Prof. Dr. Markus Risse. The focus of my work lies in the field of multimessenger astronomy and the search for ultra-high-energy photons -- photons with kinetic energies in the EeV range and beyond. Of special interest in this matter are merging processes of compact binary systems consisting of black holes or neutron stars. These sources can only be identified through their gravitational wave signature and might hold a key to various open questions of modern physics like the sources of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays or even the nature of dark matter. With the data of the Pierre Auger Observatory we are able to probe the sources of gravitational waves with respect to ultra-high-energy photons and contribute to the global effort in multimessenger astronomy.
