SHiP-charm experiment
A precise knowledge of the number of charmed hadrons produced in the target, as well as their angular and momentum distributions is essential for the SHiP experiment. In a dedicated setup the SHiP-charm experiment studies the production cross section and decay of charmed hadrons. With a first test run in July 2018 it was possible to reconstruct interaction vertices in the moving emulsion cloud chamber and to match these with tracks from a pixel detector. In further runs, tracks will be followed through the GOLIATH magnet for full particle identification via the measurement of momentum and charge.
